Great aplomb is my measly attempt to write about every book I cross paths with. I have put aside the idea of starting a book blog because of the following reasons: (1) I'm not a good writer, but I'm trying to be at least decent with it; (2) after reading a book, I always have these bottled emotions that I can't seem to identify which from which. I want to talk to someone. Complain, if it was a disaster. Fan girl, if it was all sorts of awesome. So, why not a blog, Pauline? This is kind of a therapy for my feelings.
I've come across horrible literature from when I was starting to ease into being a
book-hoarder semi-bibliophile. There were books I've once thought were the
bees knees, of course that time I haven't come across Jane Austen, Chuck Palahniuk, and J.D. Salinger. Yes, I started with Harry Potter and I still think it's the
bees knees. I'm a late bloomer, see. I just found reading enjoyable when I started college.
I never had the chance to make a book report as a requirement for a school year. A short story report about that 1 page bit on Edith Hamilton's Mythology doesn't count. One of my missions is to plow through the books that were/are used for book reports. I may have a short attention span, so it will be quite a challenge to sit through classics.
I never read a work by Shakespeare. I will, one of these days.
